TORCH: A MUSICAL TALE is an inspiring story of individuals finding their way through love, loss, and the pursuit of their own light. Set in an Icelandic Viking-like era, the musical follows the story of an orphaned boy named Torch, who has always felt destined for greater things. Ever since the Northern Lights were stolen by Morgano, an evil sorcerer, eighteen years ago, the Kingdom of Aurora has been thrown into darkness. Torch finds his fate intertwined with the kingdom’s when he encounters the mysterious Rogue Raven, who will change the course of his life forever. With the fate of the kingdom and the entire world hanging in the balance, Torch and his newfound friends set out together on a quest to restore hope before time runs out.

CHARACTERS

TORCH – A young, orphaned apprentice to a metalsmith and jewelry maker who feels that he is meant for something
more in life.

ROGUE RAVEN/AYA – The “Robin Hood” of Aurora. When not bringing hope to the villagers behind the mask, she is
Aya, a young woman with a troubled past who wants to see wrongs righted.

MORGANO – The now self-proclaimed ruler of Aurora. Morgano was the King’s Right Hand and best friend before
turning against him to trap and learn to control the Lights for his own personal gain.

TRYGOR – The head guard (or only surviving guard) to Morgano.

RUNE – The not-so-bright younger brother of Trygor, who serves as Morgano’s personal assistant.

WALTER – The proprietor of The Counting Crow and the leader of the movement to help restore the Lights.

SKARDE – A member of Walter’s team who has seen battle, even if it may have been from afar. He is quite vain and
relishes in his devilishly handsome good looks, charm, and smile.

KLÓRA – A member of Walter’s team who has seen battle, whether with her brothers growing up or on the actual
battlefield. She is not to be messed with.

ELDUR – The youngest member of Walter’s team who tries his best to fit in and is obsessed with fire and dragons.

DREKI – Torch’s loyal and friendly dog. Perhaps this is a puppet controlled by an actor.

HUGIN – The counting crow that resides in The Counting Crow. Perhaps this is a puppet controlled by an actor.

VILLAGERS – The townspeople of Aurora who have waited 18 long years for the Lights to be restored.

KING ALVADOR – The beloved King of Aurora, who lost his Life on the Night of Darkness.

QUEEN ELSKA – The beloved Queen of Aurora, who sacrificed herself to protect her newborn son on the Night of
Darkness.

ATTENDANT – The Queen’s assistant who brings the young Prince to the couple in the woods.
